It really matters, and it really doesn’t matter

In the end, we will be all dead.

If we happen to have a bit of cosmic humility, we can quickly realize that nothing we do will have any considerable significance in the scale of the universe. We talk about “big” houses, our “large” countries, but, how big is the world? do we even understand the size of the solar system? the galaxy? knowing the size of something is not the same as understanding it.

That’s probably why we prefer to keep our measurements and daily talks to a maximum of a big house or large country.

So, given the insignificance of our lives on this cosmic scale: how serious should we take our work? How serious should we take our life?

“When this goes online, it really matters, and it doesn’t matter, what matters is the people who are sparked by it, and the people who are offended by, it doesn’t fucking matter, fuck you!” Ye

Well, let us use this for our own good.

When you work on your art, make it as if really matters, believe in it, give everything you can, inspire others, but when you ship it, forget about it, it does not matter, do not listen to the offended ones. It doesn’t fucking matter.

Ye said “It really matters, and it really doesn’t matter” in a documentary from Tomas Koolhaas in October 2013 for his film ‘REM’ -a documentary about his father, the architect Rem Koolhaas
