She is right. No argument. It’s your right to believe what you want.
A friend of mine came up with a conversation she has been through all the time. I supported and encouraged her in how she sees things then and now.
Her argument was that people are not manipulated to do what they do. Is she right?
Yes. For people who can think for themselves 24/7.
Also, some people can be easily manipulated. For example, people who buy useless things from the rich and anyone in a vulnerable situation — elderly, people with severe disability, poor illegal immigrants, low information voters, new mothers, employees, and others.
My decades of life experience show anyone can be manipulated or manipulate others somehow.
Manipulation takes different forms, but costly ones occur when a victim gives something valuable to nothing. These valuables can be dignity, health, life, money, time, talent, an idea, freedom, or position. Always trust yourself in any decision of your life rather than others.
