A Beautiful Girl Can Have Two Toys
instead of thirty…
Mr. Trump came up with the idea that girls should have two toys instead of thirty.
Does he have a point?
No or yes, depending on where you were born, your income, your values, or your social status.
I was born and raised in Nigeria. I had one toy and passed it on to my younger ones. The same goes for books, bedding, clothing, games, and bicycles. In those days, things were well-made, and as I can remember, they were reasonably affordable, too.
Fast-forward: There are many things in abundance in the US, and we have many choices, which is good.
However, humans and the environment suffer because we want cheaper and useless goods and services.
Does a child need 10, 20, or 30 toys? Join the conversation below.
My experiment
Most of my children’s toys were gifts; they played with new toys for less than two hours and never touched some of them.
The good news is that the toys, books, or games they bought with their money or specifically requested were used for a long time. The Lego toys are still in my house, and adults use them.
If it’s not thirty toys…
