Where can I make a donation, and to whom?

I wasn’t surprised Arata asked me the above question.

We’re in the middle of the year, and donation appeals are pouring in.

It’s understandable that many people, including myself, have concerns about charity organization malpractice. It’s a real issue that we need to address.

Some of these organizations, for instance, might use donations to fund lavish office spaces or high executive salaries rather than directly benefiting those they claim to help.

Many studies suggest that for every dollar donated to many of these charity corporations, less than one quarter goes to the recipient.

What does that mean?

If you donate $10, less than $2.50 goes to the recipient.

A decade ago, I had an experience with a charity corporation, and that inside knowledge changed how I make donations.
