On several occasions,

I’ve spent recess alone,

Been chosen last in gym class

And been the victim of pointed index fingers

And malicious laughter.

Now, every time someone laughs with me,

I think they’re laughing at me.

And often, I’m told I don’t laugh much.

Maybe, it’s because I’m afraid of my own laughter.

Maybe, because my laughter

Reminds me of

Theirs
