“The 8 Rules” by Nyasia Kiah

The 8 Rules is a piece that is meant to bring awareness to the ongoing conversation of police conflict among the African American community. The 8 rules shown are just a few of the things that myself as well as thousands of black kids have been told by parents on how to deal with police encounters. These rules are drilled into our heads from a very young age. In this day and age, knowledge is power. Every individual should know their rights, but every African American has to know a variation of these rules.
