Zap Protocol Beta 2.0 Development Update

The team has decided to take additional time for internal QA testing and address bugs prior to releasing Q2 features publically on Kovan and BSC testnet. The team is currently in discussion with multiple networks to expand the Zap ecosystem cross-chain! An updated roadmap is being published for Q3 to the Zap.org website.

Oracle Network

The anticipated launch of the Zap Oracle Network is being finalized. Price feeds from top trading pairs will be provided initially with the ability to add new feeds based on demand. The Zap Oracle Node Explorer currently in development is an aesthetic front-end visualization of price feeds from node validators in real-time. A dispute feature is also included on the front-end to ensure that the oracle network is accurate and secure. The current consensus mechanism is based on proof-of-work (PoW) with an additional staking requirement of Zap Tokens. The requirements for node validators will be shared along with the setup instructions in an upcoming document. The team plans to eventually transition the consensus mechanism to proof-of-stake (PoS) at a later time.

NFT Marketplace

The team is working through technical and mobile issues regarding the NFT marketplace. Additional QA testing was provided to further enhance the overall design and user experience when using the application. Users will be able to mint NFTs by uploading images and other supported media files to the platform with an easy-to-use drag and drop interface. Additionally, our team has started development on several innovations within the NFT space such as fractionalized NFTs and RFTs. Look out for an article in the coming days explaining fractionalization in more detail.

Binance Smart Chain

The team started the checklist outlining the procedure for mainnet token minting and contract deployment along with ERC20 to BEP20 Token Bridge and ZAP/BNB liquidity. The Zap BSC contract addresses are shown below:

Zap Labs

Our team of cryptoeconomic researchers continued to make amazing progress on research and writing articles for our Medium publication. This week the team focused on articles about slippage graphs, fractionalized NFTs, and impermanent loss.
