That might seem like a strange question to ask “Would you buy a house without looking around?” but at Zealify it is the question we like to ask companies and candidates alike.

You wouldn’t buy a house without looking around as that would be completely crazy; how would know what you were walking into! At Zealify we believe you should treat your job search like a house search; you want to find a house you love so why shouldn’t you aim to find a job you love. Of course you can’t always take a look around an office but you can get access to more information than a job advert and if you can’t then that should probably send off some alarm bells.

This can allow you to “self-select” whether you have found somewhere you fit; it also gives you a more realistic idea of the job behind the job title. We do this through videos, blog posts and visually engaging job adverts allowing you to really understand, day-to-day, what you will be doing.

20 lines of a job description and a rather non-descript careers page often leaves you more confused about what the job (and company) will be like. When you are going to be spending (at least) 50% of your waking hours in a job, wouldn’t you rather enjoy that time rather than watching the clock waiting to get home! By understanding the values behind the company, what makes them tick and how their culture works you can get a real feel for what it would be like to work there.
