Fashion evolves through generations and trends make a comeback all the time! One such trend that the world of fashion witnessed was that of the ‘Neon’ colour. In the 70’s, the colour palette saw more subdued or subtle shades when it came to clothing. Pastels, nudes, softer hues were huge back then.

Then came the 80’s! 80’s saw fashion in a new light because of the advancement in technologies when it came to dyeing fabrics. This gave birth to experimental fashion and hence came the love for the glowing neon colour.

The Decade of Neon

Neon was such a rage that it gave the 80’s the title of ‘the neon decade’. Ultra bright and pop colours were the flavour of the season. Elite socialites like Paris Hilton claimed to have started the trend as per Vogue Australia, but there is no proof to back that up. So the question still remains, why the colour neon ?

Why Neon?

Unlike other loud colours, neon has a more ‘glowing’ effect and is pleasant to the eye. With neon, you don’t have to try extra hard to stand out. You can just about wear anything in neon and it will automatically catch one’s attention.

Tips to wear the Neon colour right

  1. If you want to wear a neon top, go for a neutral bottom. You don’t want to be dressed like Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

2. If you’re more of a neon dress person, then pair them with the right footwear. It makes all the difference!

3. The last choice is to try out a neon coloured bottom. You can pick a pair of pants, a skirt or for that matter even a pair of shorts. All you need to do is find a suitable top to complement it. Go for a plain top and if you’re feeling more experimental, prints do just fine too!

For Men

Neon being a unisex and fun colour, men should also have a little fun with it. If you’re not too sure of owning a garment, you can always own these neon accessories.

So, are you going to experiment with neon? If so, tell me how!
