ChinaJoy has gained the title of China’s and Asia’s largest video game and digital entertainment fair. Hosted in Shanghai, this year it brought together 4,000 games from over 30 different markets, being displayed in a fascinating 170,000-meter-squared venue. The Abyss was excited to be a part of ChinaJoy-2018, and is glad to present a photo report of this remarkable event.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, in 2018 ChinaJoy attracted over 342,700 visitors in just three days (according to official records).
The day before ChinaJoy kick off, industry leaders were sharing their experience at the first China Blockchain Technology and Game Developers Conference. Benny Giang, Co-Founder of CryptoKitties was one of them.
The Abyss stand was located in the B2B area where the top companies providing business services exhibited as well.
It was our pleasure to see some of our partners there, e.g. Xsolla.
In the context of ChinaJoy, we were also glad to attend Baidu business party to meet and talk to the leaders of video game and blockchain industries.
A real thrill was the ESL CS:GO tournament, with our sympathies being with the TyLoo team. We should also recall the Epic Games afterparty, celebrating the Fortnite’s 1st birthday.
On Day 3, we took on opportunity to meet the WAX, Decentraland and CryptoKitties officials to discuss the future and trends of blockchain industry and video games distribution.
With Jayson Hu, Head of China at Decentraland.
During three days of ChinaJoy, we’ve held series of business meetings and introduced The Abyss to a lot of video game companies and blockchain projects. Pictured is Vladimir Kurochkin, our President, with Coinbene representative.

Finalizing ChinaJoy, was the Gamers Can Change the World party, hosted by Kingsoft Cloud and Xiaomi. The Abyss attended the event (as Kingsoft Cloud’s partner), together with industry top players.

ChinaJoy has brought great opportunities for The Abyss. We were happy to attend the event to promote our project, to present all the benefits it brings to the global video game community and to talk with industry leaders and influencers.

The rise of the video game and blockchain industries in China is remarkable. Chinese market is one of the most important for us, and we’ll strive to bring & expand the penetration of our product and services here.

Best,

The Abyss Team
