MomoCon 2024, held from Friday, May 24, to Monday, May 27, at the Georgia World Congress Center, was a vibrant tapestry of pop culture, shattering previous attendance records by drawing over 55,800 passionate fans. This made it the largest celebration of gaming and anime in the Southeast United States.

One of the most electrifying moments of the weekend was the keynote speech by the legendary Goichi “Suda51” Suda. The acclaimed director, writer, and game designer, known for his iconic work on the No More Heroes series, Shadows of the Damned, and killer7, took center stage. Suda51 tantalized the audience with hints about an upcoming project and unveiled new cosmetic skins for the much-anticipated Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, leaving fans in awe.

MomoCon 2024 once again showcased its commitment to competitive gaming with a series of high-stakes tournaments. The excitement was palpable as gamers faced off in all three major Nintendo franchises — Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate — as well as in popular fighting games like Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6. To catch all the action and see the list of winners, fans can visit the official MomoCon 2024 Start.gg page and watch the Smash Ultimate VODs on VGBootCamp.

Disney aficionados were thrilled to meet legends like Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid, Enchanted, Toy Story 3) and Scott Weinger (Aladdin, Hercules, Full House). Fans of Hazbin Hotel had the chance to interact with its creator, Vivienne Medrano, while gaming and anime enthusiasts could connect with voice actor Beau Billingslea (Red Dead Redemption II, Tekken 8, Naruto).

Co-Founder Jess Merriman encapsulated the event’s essence perfectly: “As always, attending MomoCon is like being at an amusement park. There is so much magic happening all around us during the weekend. Thank you to every staff member, volunteer, guest, contractor, and attendee. We could not do this without you!”

Mark your calendars for MomoCon 2025, set to return to the Georgia World Congress Center from Thursday, May 22, through Sunday, May 25, 2025.
