Tech: Bear Notes is bearilliant!

The new note taking standard for iOS and Mac

Source: Bear Notes

I have always had the early adopter bug and continuously try new and emerging technology tools. When it comes to notes I’ve always struggled with the functionality of the native OS X Notes app and Evernote was good but has limitations in the free version plus it’s quite pricey as a paid app.

Then things changed in a BIG way.

Evernote made one of the biggest mistakes a company can make by changing their privacy policy so that Evernote staff could read your confidential notes (business and personal).

After public feedback Evernote didn’t go ahead with the change but it was too late as I had found my replacement. That very same day Apple released it’s Best App of 2016 called Bear Notes — A new take on note taking which sported a great UI, all the features you could ever want, and a great pro pricing model.

Write beautifully on iPhone, iPad, and Mac

Bear Notes is uniquely different using a design first methodology that is simple yet elegant providing users with a distraction-free environment. It’s great for writers and coders alike and can cater to both needs with little effort.

One feature I most enjoy is the way they have used hashtags to organise your notes which gives you greater flexibility than having to choose a single folder.

Definitely worth a look.

What I would love to see in future updates:

  • Archive feature
  • Collaboration
  • Improved Conflict Resolution
  • Touch ID / Password Support at account and/or note level
