Top 10 Best Areas to Stay During Your Pattaya Holiday
Over the past few decades, Pattaya has really come into its own as one of the world-class holiday destinations 🏆
Are you looking for a laidback holiday? A nightlife-filled and exciting vacation? Or do you simply want to be within close proximity to many golf courses? Pattaya has everything you could dream of to enjoy and have fun during the course of your holidays 🏅
Check out my list of the top 10 best areas to stay during your Pattaya holiday and have the best time of your life on your holidays.
#10 Laem Chabang
Laem Chabang is a port city located between Pattaya and Bangkok and is just a 25-minute drive away from Pattaya. Here you can find lots of places to spend your holidays and enjoy as much as you can. The most prominent place in Laem Chabang is its world-renowned Laem Chabang International Country Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus 🧔 In addition, you can spend a day playing golf on your holidays here or at Crystal Bay golf club or Burapha golf club and resort.
If you are here with your family, you can visit the Pattaya Sheep Farm, Sriracha Tiger zoo, Frost Magical Ice of Siam, ATV & Buggy adventures Pattaya, and many other places. You can also find countless restaurants and cafes in Laem Chabang to satisfy your taste buds with local and international cuisine. Laem Chabang also has many affordable places to stay, such as Laem Chabang International Country Club, Centara Sonrisa Residences and Suites Sriracha, Novotel Marina Sriracha & Koh Si Chang, and many more.
Laem Chabang is on my top 10 list of best places to stay in Pattaya because of its ideal location between Pattaya and Bangkok. Also, it is close to many popular tourist attractions 🏅
#9 Peaceful Bang Lamung
You will be surprised to know how peaceful Bang Lamung really is, a village community near the Bay of Bangkok and 30 minutes drive from Pattaya and its famous attractions. You can reach Bang Lamung by either Songathews or a short train ride from Pattaya 🧔 Walking the village streets, you can come across Chao Mae Uthong shrine, Wat Bang Lamung, and Wat Tha Kardan.
The village beach is something to admire, and this unspoiled beach gives you picturesque sunset views from the Bay of Bangkok. From here, you can visit the famous Pattaya floating market and witness the true colors of Thai culture. Don’t forget to indulge in local Thai cuisine such as Pad Thai. Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya Elephant Village, and many other tourist destinations are close to Bang Lamung. Bang Lamung also has some of the most affordable places to stay, such as Xanadu pool and villa, wisdom hotel, paradise hotel, and many more.
If you are visiting Pattaya with your family, this is one of the best places to stay during the holidays 🥇
#8 Family Stay at Nakula
If you are looking for somewhere quiet to stay during your Pattaya holidays, the Nakula neighborhood is the place to be 🧔 You can find the cleanest and most beautiful beaches here, such as Wong Amet. Besides sandy beaches, you can visit the most iconic attractions here, such as Mini Siam, Monster Aquarium, and Sanctuary of Truth. You can also pay a visit to Sukhawadee house, Lanpho Nakula market, and see the masterpieces of Van Goh and Monet on large screens at Hello Van Gogh.
With all these family tourist attractions, you can bring your family here and stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Pattaya. This part of Pattaya is well connected to other regions, and traveling is accessible to and from Nakula. Most of the accommodation options are in the five-star range, such as beach resorts and beach restaurants, but affordable options are available away from the beach. Nakula is lively by the day, but it gets quieter after dark, and there are fewer attractions and shopping facilities.
The quiet and peaceful environment of Nakula takes it to the eighth top place to stay in Pattaya 🏅
#7 Towards Rayong
A little bit further away from Huay Yai on your way to Rayong, one of the most beautiful places to live or holiday in the region is Bangsaray Beach. This picturesque area is known as having one of the most beautiful stretches of sand on the entire Eastern Seaboard 🧔, alongside some quality villa and apartment developments that are taking the area to the next level.
Along the main stretch at Bangsaray beach, you will also find some of the most delicious seafood restaurants and a handful of quality eateries that appeal to the region’s foreign expat communities. If you do stay in Bangsaray, you will have a lovely laidback time and easy access to a stunning beach. As I mentioned above, if you are a single person looking to stay in the heart of the action near lots of bars, clubs, eateries, shopping options, and excitement, nothing can match staying near Pattaya Beach Road or Walking Street 🧔 Alternatively, if you are with your other half or a family and want a more wholesome Pattaya holiday experience that still has easy access to bars and restaurants but is a little more peaceful, Jomtien beach is the ideal choice.
If you want to bask in a private and beautiful place with a stunning beach and laidback attitude, not many places in the region can match Bangsaray. If you are a family and you want to have a holiday in a relaxing place, but still be close to Pattaya holiday attractions and all the things that enhance a holiday, I would suggest somewhere in East Pattaya such as Lake Mabprachan 🏅
Koh Lan is a beautiful small island nearly 8 km from Pattaya in the Gulf of Thailand. It is better known for its pristine beaches, delicious fresh seafood, and adventure activities. If you want to be in or around Pattaya but want it to be relaxed and calm, take a ferry ride and head to Koh Lan. You can lounge in the sun on a sandy beach and enjoy the seashore or explore this small piece of paradise. And being just a small hop away from Pattaya, you can travel to and from Ko Lan without any problem. It is a perfect getaway spot for you and your family on holidays, and a hotel stay in Ko Lan is very affordable.
#5 Na Jomtien, Huay Yai, and Bangsaray
Although many people who come to enjoy a Pattaya holiday like to book hotel and resort rooms in the heart of the city, more and more holidaymakers than ever before are exploring the delights of booking a luxurious holiday villa rental outside of the city 🧔
One of the best places to rent a holiday villa in the region is at Na Jomtien or Huay Yai. Both these areas are located to the north of Pattaya over towards Bangsaray and Rayong. The amount of affordable villa rentals is what makes staying in Na Jomtien and Huay Yai so desirable. These areas have beautiful countryside locations and are between a 10–15 minute drive into Pattaya City.
These areas are also very popular with local foreign expats who work in the city, many of which have families. In Huay Yai and Na Jomtien, you will find some of the city’s best and most popular attractions such as the Pattaya Floating Market, Mimosa Pattaya, and the Amazone Cartoon Network Water Park, and Nong Nooch Gardens. T he affordable staying options and lots of family-friendly places in close proximity makes Na Jomtien and Huay Yai deserve a fifth place on this list of best places to stay during holidays 🥇
#4 Staying in East Pattaya
One of the most up-and-coming areas on the Eastern Seaboard. We call it locally as ‘East Pattaya’, or ‘Pattaya Darkside’. Don’t let the latter name put you off though. Because it was called the ‘dark side’ many years ago because the area didn’t have street lights at the time. Hence the ‘dark’ reference 🧔 The reference has nothing to do with exploring the delights of ladyboys for the first time.
East Pattaya is a vast area on the opposite side of Sukhumvit road to the city with the most notable areas being Lake Mabprachan, Nong Prue, Nong Pla Lai, and Banglamung. These are areas with heavy foreign expat communities and also some cool resorts and hotels. Areas such as Lake Mabprachan, Soi Khao Noi, and Soi Khaotalo have some fantastic value for money international restaurants and an understated nightlife scene but are relatively laidback areas to stay during your Pattaya holiday.
The best part about East Pattaya is that if you are visiting Pattaya for a golf holiday, there are many courses within close proximity. Siam Country Club is located in East Pattaya, and you will also find it much easier to access other Pattaya golf courses such as Burapha Golf Club, Pattaya Country Club, Laem Chabang, and even the back route to Huay Yai where you will find Phoenix, St. Andrews 2000, Rayong Green Valley and more.
Not many holidaymakers know about East Pattaya, but I am sure that over the next few years it will become immensely popular, especially with the golf holiday sector and expats who live and work in the city that’s why it takes fourth place in this list 🥇
#3 Pattaya Beach
Suppose you’re in Pattaya for the very first time in your life on holiday. In that case, the Pattaya beach area is an ideal place to stay because of its affordable staying options 🧔 In addition, the central location of this place is surrounded by restaurants with delicious food, shopping facilities, tourist attractions, and other activities that can keep you going all day and night. If you are a day person, then enjoy the beach or Asia’s biggest beachfront shopping mall, and if you are a night owl, then the varied nightlife is fun to enjoy in the Pattaya Beach area.
Pattaya Beach is the place where you can spend all day and keep indulging in lots of activities which makes it the third best place in Pattaya to stay in 🏅
#2 Pattaya Holiday at Jomtien Beach
If you enjoy a more laid-back holiday experience, but still want to be close to Western-style eateries and exciting nightlife? If so, Jomtien Beach is the perfect place to stay. This is also an ideal holiday location for families 🧔
As Jomtien is not as densely populated as Pattaya City, it is easier to get out onto Sukhumvit Road. This makes the surrounding Pattaya holiday attractions a less stressful experience. Along Jomtien Beach Road, Thappraya Road, and Thepprasit Road, there is some great value-for-money hotel choices.
Jomtien is known as the home to some of the city’s finest restaurants. It’s a popular place with foreign expats. There are so many great restaurants in Jomtien such as News Steaks, Frasers, Café des Amis, and many more. Jomtien is such a popular destination for a holiday because it merges a more laid-back atmosphere. Jomtien is conducive to families and couples. But it still has lots of bars and amenities that make it a great place to stay which is why it’s the second-best place to stay in Pattaya during holidays 🥇
#1 City location for your Pattaya Holiday
The obvious choice when it comes to holidaying in the region is in the heart of downtown Pattaya. The city has the most stunning choice of international restaurants, bars, and world-class shopping centers 🥇 It is not much you can’t find in City for your Pattaya Holiday. There is a vast choice of hotels on Pattaya beach Road, Second Road, in Naklua, and on Pratumnak Hill. This ensures competitive prices all around.
With so many things to see and do, it’s no wonder why most people opt to stay in the city. The only drawback to staying in such a location is the same you will find in every city. It can be really busy on the roads and depending on the time of day, getting in and out of the city can become tiresome. Other popular areas in the heart of the city include Pratumnak Hill and Naklua.
If you are visiting Pattaya to play golf, this location might not be the best for you because you will have to continuously drive outside of the city, although Siam Country Club and Phoenix Gold Golf Club are both nearby and will take less 🧔 We can safely say that if you want a more rounded Pattaya holiday experience with bars and restaurants nearby, Downtown Pattaya is the first and best choice 🏆
There is so much choice when you are thinking of booking a Pattaya holiday 🏅 that it only makes sense to have all the info close at hand so you can make the best-informed decision for your holiday convenience. So this selection of best areas to stay in during your Pattaya holiday will make your holidays convenient and memorable 🧔
