How Do I Write for The Beautiful Game?

This guide will help you get started.

Step One: Create a Medium account.

Click the “sign up” link, follow the steps and create your profile.

Step Two: Send us an email and ask to be added as a Writer.

Send an email to CommunitySoccer@gmail.com with ‘Medium Writer’ in the subject line. Tell us your Medium URL (ex. www.Medium.com/@YourName). Once you’ve been added as a Writer, you will be notified.

Step Three: Draft Your Story!

Login to your Medium account. Go to your profile icon and click ‘New Story.’ Write your story, and add content, images, videos and/or links. Add tags to your story before you publish. Once your story is complete, click the ‘Publish’ button.

After your story is published on your personal account, and you have been accepted as a publication writer, next click on your story, scroll to the end of your story and click the three dots. A drop-down menu will appear. Click “add to publication.” Choose The Beautiful Game.

*(note: Medium allows your stories to be published by only one publication. If you have a story you would like to submit to The Beautiful Game, but the story is already published in another Medium publication, you will need to create a new story by clicking ‘Write a Story’ and then copy and paste all content from the original story into a new story link and submit it by following the steps from above).

Once your story is submitted, an editor will review it before it appears in The Beautiful Game publication. If edits need to be made, an editor will be in contact.
