Beyoncé LOVES to surprise everyone. The queen never lets an opportunity to drop a huge bomb on everyone pass. The world basically stopped on December 13th 2013 when she released her self titled digital album completely out of the blue. There were 14 songs, a few with featured artists, and 14 music videos all which were kept entirely under raps until Beyonce was ready to release it. Other rappers have followed in her footsteps with Drakes release of “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and Kendrick’s “Untitled” album. Beyoncé’s husband had tried to pull of something similar before Beyoncé even did it herself, with a unexpected announcement of a soon to be dropped album during the NBA finals in summer 2013. Maybe that was the springboard for her idea, but his impact was not nearly at the level that Beyoncé’s was. Her self titled album deserved all the attention it received. It wasn’t just the sudden surprise that caused the impact but the content that Beyoncé and her team worked immensely hard on. Lemonade was released a few years later and although it wasn’t as much of a shock the content that she focused on hit everyone very hard. Jay-z cheating on Beyoncé & Becky with the good hair seemed to be the only phrases on everyones minds. Beyoncé knows the power she has and she knows just how to use it, thats what makes her a queen of hip hop.

On Wednesday Febuary 1st 2017 she did it again with one image:

And then we find out she is having twins. Per usual the internet went crazy again. Everyone seemed to forget Jay had supposedly cheated on her, but the celebration of Beyoncé’s happiness, womanhood, and motherhood is far more spectacular. Beyoncé is an icon of Hip Hop especially for females. Her empowerment of herself and her own body set examples for women to love themselves and be proud of their womanhood. Just in this one picture she has very little clothing on but the purpose of this is for her to celebrate her body and the miracle it is capable of. She is showing woman that she too is a woman and that her body is hers and she loves it. Even with the flowers in the background, a historically more feminine item, and the softness of the photo she is not pushing away her femininity but taking control of it and loving it. She is a modern day leader of the hip hop world and one that everyone should appreciate it one way or another. She is paving the way for women to love their bodies, for black women to love the color of their skin, and for everyone to love aspects about themselves that aren’t always accepted in mainstream media. Her surprise pregnancy announcement is just one of the many the amount of importance she holds can be seen.

With her Coachella performance only a few months away everyone is nervous about if the hip hop star will still be able to preform. Weekend passes to the festival were well over $300 this year, with the hip hop star as the main attraction. Anyone that had bought tickets should be upset that there may be a chance she wont be able to attend. But she is Beyoncé, no one should be that worried. If anyone can do it, it would be her.
