Businesses say and mean opposite things. Things which excited businesses in 2019, don’t excite them in 2020. Customers do not care for the brand purpose, as most brands do not care about diversity.

Copywriter Ryan Wallman has made a list of seven things.

  1. They loved agile in 2019, which means putting things on hold in 2020.
  2. Their love for experiences in 2019 has vanished this year.
  3. ‘Digital everything’ was the flavour last year. Not anymore.
  4. Ethical businesses were in. Customers love Amazon more than the last year.
  5. Remember the juggernaut of Airbnb. No one is talking about them.
  6. Businesses valued diversity. They have to act on it now.
  7. Marketers predicted a different 2020, but not this different.

He had shared another tweet about businesses’ weird utterances: By staying apart, we stay together. Even we do not know what that means, but it sounds good.
