Impact of high custom duties on local businesses

Arun Jaitley increased custom duties upto 100percent. It will impact goods people consume often. Either goods will be costlier or local goods replacing them will be inferior.

• Micromax+ Intex: Time for big four to get back their market share.
• Gaffar market: Mobile accessories will be hit the most, as it imports most of its offerings. Time for local manufacturers to fill the gap.
• Royal Enfield: It will increase its market share in premium bikes segment. They had lost it to other players.

• West Delhi: Smart watches and wearables: Health tracking will be more expensive.
• Karol Bagh + Lajpat Nagar+ Nehru Place: Accessories: Hubs like like Karol Bagh & Lajpat Nagar may sell inferior products by local manufacturers.
• Patanjali: Edible oils of vegetable origin: Lala Ramdev must be grinning from ear to ear, as more people will buy his brand.
