Will Delhi-NCR lose jobs in 2018?

Government claimed 7mn new jobs.

7 million new jobs added to the economy. It wasn’t true.
In fact, jobs had declined in sectors such as manufacturing and transport.

• 87000 manufacturing jobs lost in 2017.
• 3000 transport sector jobs lost.
• 64000 jobs added over all, slowest increase in the past year.

Not so puzzling numbers:

• Last quarter our GDP increased by 7.2% . Highest in five quarters.
• Jobs added in construction ( 10,000) , trade and restaurant ( 12,000) and education ( 99,000) .

What does it mean for jobs in Delhi NCR?

• More jobs in sectors such as manufacturing, construction, trade, accommodation, IT/ BPO, restaurant, education and health.
• Gurgaon & Noida will see more jobs in their strong areas such as startups, IT and construction.
• Delhi will see rise in jobs related to trade, accommodation and restaurants.
