With just one day left before Halloween, we have director Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece, The Shining. Adapted from the Stephen King novel of the same name, the film was not always highly regarded as it would later become. Initial reaction to the film was quite mixed and it would even get nominated for a Razzie (Oscars for bad films). Thankfully, over time people began recognizing this film for the game-changing horror it is; with remarkable cinematography, brilliant acting, and haunting atmosphere, this film will forever go down as one of horror’s best.

Synopsis: A family becomes the caretakers at a hotel during its off season and something more than just cabin fever begins to set in and cause disruption.
