Why write

I’m not going to lie — I can barely spell. Yet, I recently started journaling a few sentences a day. To give some context, I generally sit down for 5 minutes in the morning or night to reflect on my previous day and write a brief summary of what happened, what I did, and how I felt.

This hasn’t changed my life drastically — I haven’t been magically happier. But, it has made me consciously think about each day I live just a little more.

A rare happy, non-intimate blurb after waking up.

And that has increased my appreciation for what I have in this life —a quiet reminder of my health, friends, and family. More than anything, I’m grateful for the small grounding that writing has given my life when I’ve needed it the most.

Thanks for reading.
