One of the bands that defined the sound of OPM in the 2000s and 2010s is about to take the metaverse by storm. Urbandub has officially signed with Anotoys Collectiverse, paving the way for exclusive digital collectibles featuring the influential rock group.

The Cebu-based band first hit the scene in 2001, immediately catching the ears of Pinoy rock fans. They broke out two years later with their second studio album, Influence, which won Album of the Year at the 2004 NU Rock Awards thanks to powerhouse singles “Soul Searching” and “A New Tattoo”. Their raw, passionate sound gave birth to one of the country’s greatest modern rock anthems, “First of Summer”, which dominated the airwaves for years after it came out in 2005.

By 2008, Urbandub had garnered international acclaim, winning Best Group at Malaysia’s Junk Magazine Regional Music Awards. That year saw one of their most successful albums, Under Southern Lights, which saw the release of top singles “Guillotine”, “Evidence”, and “The Fight is Over”.

The band went on a brief hiatus in 2015, as bassist Lalay Lim and drummer JanJan Mendoza left the group to focus on their family lives. While vocalist Gabby Alipe and guitarist John Dinopol kept the fire burning as a duo, fans around the world celebrated as the full lineup returned to action in early 2018.

Today, they have their sights set on bringing their music to the metaverse. Through their exclusive deal with Anotoys Collectiverse, Urbandub will be releasing limited-edition NFTs that go beyond being digital art, with functionalities that make it possible for fans to get access to exclusive events and collectibles featuring the band.

If you’re a certified Dubista, consider this your call to arms: Subscribe to Urbandub’s NFTs as soon as they launch. Keep an eye on this spot to be the first to know when that happens.
