Death comes for all of us. Our stories are written each day we live…and they all come to an end eventually. Immerse yourself in our new comics this week. Pray that you do not see your name written in the Book of the Dead.

Story by Lukas Wever | Art and Letters by Alessandor Earnest
Story by Tom Ravid | Art and Letters by Katie Ravenscraig
Story by Christian De Matteo | Art and Letters by Jack Van Thomme
Story by Patrick Hicks | Art by Luna Grey | Letters by Tom Lynott
Story by Jack Van Thomme | Art by Chris Bailey | Letters by Kevin D. Lintz

Lukas is pretty new to this. His first release “Bad Endings” will be out later this year. He loves the creativity and collaboration of the Comic Jam and is mostly just happy to be here.

Alessandor Earnest, alias “The Imp of Editing”
Attended art school for five years. Came away with a fancy degree and narrowly avoided learning how to draw.
Now edits comic books and manages creative teams. Could not resist test driving a new drawing tablet, despite the aforementioned lack of drawing chops.

Tom Ravid is a South African indie comic writer currently trying to not succumb to (yet another) existential crisis while living in Japan. He spends his days assisting in the teaching of English to youths, and his nights mostly worrying about things, missing his cat, and writing stuff (when not also worrying about writing stuff). You can see the stuff he writes at https://www.pariahcabal.com/ or follow him on Twitter (https://twitter.com/mmmajorthom), where you can watch his existential crises in real time!

Katie Ravenscraig is a printmaker and illustrator based in Scotland. She makes risograph and silkscreen prints, zines, and digital illustrations. Passionate about visual storytelling in any medium, her work explores themes of human connection, of light and colour, and of other worlds.

Christian De Matteo is a writer and college professor, founder of Tellworthy.com and co-founder of FugitivePoems.com with artist-extraordinaire James Lines. He loves all forms of art and entertainment, enjoys long walks on the beach and other less sandy locations, and is fatally allergic to fluffy cats (in case you wanted to get rid of him). He can be found pontificating/dad-joking on Twitter: @CDMetc and @FugitivePoems. He cannot draw. Like at all.

Jack Van Thomme illustrates comics and pitches in when he can. You can see the things he likes to draw and read the things he likes to talk about on Twitter and Instagram @Real_JackVT

Patrick Hicks lives in Minnesota and has been writing since that time he shattered his leg in 7th grade. He’s written short stories, comics, and once spent a year interviewing a former Mafia Made Man and writing a novel of his life (seriously). Has been known to drop everything and start structuring a new story at all hours of the night. He loves discussing outlines and story structure and can be reached on https://www.instagram.com/patrickhickspy/

Luna Grey is an artist living in Grove City, Ohio. She usually spends all of her time drawing and looking at bugs. You can follow her on her Instagram at https://instagram.com/lunagreyart

Tom Lynott lives in Arizona with his adorable wife, two boys and a Corgi / Border-Collie mix named Ace. He took part in Comics Experience’s Introduction to Lettering Comics class in May 2021. Since then he has been honing his lettering skills on any comic scripts and art he can get his hands onto.

Chris Bailey, 25, is an artist an illustrator from Philadelphia, PA who fell in love with the art of visual storytelling at a young age through comics and animation. When he’s not drawing or painting, you can find him lounging around with his roomie’s dog or noodling around on a guitar.

Kevin D. Lintz is a comic book letterer, writer, and editor. He learned his skills in a Comics Experience class and honed them on the mean streets of his all-ages comic book, Team SLUG. He startles his family by making sound effect noises out loud to try and translate them into written words. He has even watched “Helvetica”, the full-length feature movie about the font Helvetica.
