How to Supercharge Humans to be AI-Ready

I saw the movie “The Creator” recently. Even if you’re not a sci-fi fan, it was a beautifully shot film that is highly relevant to how we approach AI.

Being excited about the potential of AI does not necessarily mean we have the emotional understanding to be AI-ready. While 72% of business leaders believe having AI will give them an advantage, only 36% of CEOs feel confident they are AI-ready.

That’s a 50% gap, and very few people are addressing the root cause of that gap. So, let’s start here.

What Is the Biggest Fear of AI?

The biggest fear of AI is that it will end the human race. The movie “The Creator” certainly echoes that fear. It’s about the US (and its allies) going to war against all things AI while the East (New Asia) fights to protect and preserve AI.

The movie The Creator was beautifully shot in Vietnam.
Can AI Decide to End The Human Race?

In the movie, the US spares no effort to recover and destroy a powerful AI weapon that comes in the form of a little girl, Alphie. However, what becomes evident as we watch the movie is that Alphie isn’t programmed to end the human race. Alphie is programmed to end all wars through empathy.

The movie The Creator has touched a nerve in many humans. It reminds us that we build AI in our likeness. It is the values we infuse into AI that will determine whether we make AI an agent for peace.

What Other Fears Do We Have about AI?

Another fear of AI is that it will evolve so fast that humans will lose control of it. But here’s something I’d like you to ponder.

What role does reposnisble AI play in attack drones?
Do We Fear Losing Control of Humans or AI?

Imagine an attack drone (AI weapon) suddenly changing direction because AI decided to override its operating system. Imagine the attack drone landing safely in a desert, away from any population.

What is more scary?

An attack drone refusing to obey an order to destroy lives?

Or an attack drone landing safely in a desert away from any population?

In the article Welcome to the Wild West of Artificial Intelligence, I explore that question and more.

However, it makes me wonder.

Perhaps humans are more afraid of losing control over other humans than losing control over AI itself.

What Is Behind the Fear of Public Reaction?

The AI wave is not coming. It’s already here, and it’s building momentum. It will be a tsunami of global proportions. And 50% of us (at least) are not AI-ready. So, what’s the hold-up?

Many small (and larger) businesses want to adopt AI-first operating systems. In other words, they want to automate the h*ll out of everything because they believe it will give them an advantage. But they fear the public’s reaction if they put AI at the centre of their business models.

Torn between the desire to automate everything and the desire to keep the public (and their employees) on their side, these companies continue to ignore innovations in AI while leaving their employees’ skilling, reskilling, and upskilling for another day.

If a human-centric approach to AI is not at the heart of a business model, what is?

Here are some interesting statistics you might want to know:

78% of employees say they are ready to learn new skills when needed

Only 38% of employees believe they have enough time to complete the training to acquire new skills

It seems that employees are ready to embark on the AI wave adventure. But they need to know what to train for, and their CEOs (64% of them) don’t know either. Where does that leave us?

Emotional Tech©: The bird’s eye view of riding the AI wave

Which option will you choose?

  • Hoping the AI tide will recede and everything will go back to normal (whatever normal means to you)
  • Trying to outrun AI by trying to be smarter than an AI system trained on 1.7 trillion parameters (ChatGPT-4)
  • Automating the h*ll out of everything while disregarding AI training for yourself, your team, your employees, your clients, etc.
  • Integrating Emotional Tech© (EI + AI): Infusing emotional intelligence (EI) into your AI so you can bring the best of AI and the best of humanity together

🌟 Emotional Tech© Helps Humans Understand AI and its Capabilities

Removing the fear of AI will make your target market embrace AI with open arms.

Much of what we fear is rooted in ignorance. Breaking through the ignorance:

AI does not feel. AI cannot feel empathy or have compassion for you. It does not have discernment (an EI skill) about what works emotionally for humans.

Humans feel. Humans have the ability to use feelings to discern what works at a humanity level.

🌟 Emotional Tech© Helps Humans Trust in AI Responsibly

Infusing EI into your AI will create trust in the future of humanity and AI.

Much of what we fear is rooted in mistrust. Breaking through the mistrust:

AI does not experience life. AI does not feel. It cannot experience life and derive wisdom from it. Its guardrails are human-made.

Humans experience life. Humans have the ability to feel experiences and derive wisdom. Humans decide the quality of guardrails.

🌟 Emotional Tech© Helps Humans Integrate Human-Centric AI Technology

Pursuing emotionally intelligent innovations will enhance human well-being.

Much of what we fear is rooted in old programming. Breaking through the old programming:

AI does not innovate. AI is not capable of having a spark of creativity of its own as its data is programmed into it.

Humans innovate. Humans have the ability to access hidden genius and ignite a spark of creativity of their own.

The Ultimate Tool for Innovations with a Human-Centric Approach
