“There is no dignity quite so impressive and no independence quite so important as living within your means. –Calvin Coolidge, 30th U.S. president and father of two.
How true it is to give your children the gift of financial literacy, responsibility, and focus. This is something we work on in our household a great deal.
We want to leave our kids with a better understanding and knowledge base than we had and have had to learn on our own. This week’s story will give some great insight into this as well!
This Week’s Stories

Your Money Matters To Your Kids
Our household has been interested in personal finance for years. What started as an aggressive journey to eliminate student debt has morphed into an ongoing focus and priority surrounding money. Over the years, with deliberate budgeting and careful planning, we’ve gotten in the habit and mindset of living below our means each month. We put artificial constraints on spending our money.
Weekly Dad Joke
What do you call a naughty lamb🐑 dressed up like a skeleton💀 for Halloween?
Baaad to the bone.
My daughters loved this one. It was one of the few they caught onto right away. And thankfully my mom was here and she laughs at everything I say too.
Weekly Prompt
What has been the most diffiuclt part of fatherhood? How have you overcome it? Or are you in the middle of it now.
I have been reading a lot of first-time dads sharing how little patience they have with their newborns. They didn’t realize that in the middle of those sleepless, crying filled nights, that their nerves would be worn so thin.
We all have something that is difficult. Sometimes it is the newborn phase. Other times it is the toddler phase. Some of us have teenagers and this is truly a tricky time.
Whatever you are going through or have gone through to be the most difficult time, share it in a story along with lessons learned!
