under the marble sky
where myths linger,
a whisper of divine breath
brushes my cheek —
I walk among shadows,
tall and silent,
each step a hymn
to ancient pantheons

I, the wanderer,
lost in the labyrinth
of time’s frail corridors,
seek the echo of forgotten gods
their voices, a susurrus
beneath the stone bridges
of this city’s vast dreamscape

in the flicker of streetlamps,
a glint of Athena’s wisdom
guides me through the dusk,
her owl’s gaze piercing
the veil of twilight —
I catch my reflection
in the shop window,
a ghost of Hermes smiles,
his winged sandals poised
for flight

the scent of ambrosia
mingles with the city’s breath
bustling, alive —
I taste it on the air,
a trace of Hera’s ire
in the clamor of honking horns,
Zeus's thunder in the rumble
of distant trains

beneath the archways,
echoes of Apollo’s lyre
serenade the night
the stars, his scattered notes
in a celestial symphony —
I pause, enraptured,
a mortal tethered
to divine melody

they are here,
in the worn statues,
the faded murals,
etched in the pulse
of modern streets —
their myths weave
with the breath of now,
a seamless tapestry
of mortal and immortal thread

I, a mere thread
in this vast loom,
walk on,
carrying their tales,
etched in my veins
each step a testament
to the gods’ enduring whisper —
a dance through time
unending,
unforgotten

and as the night falls,
I stand at the brink
of the river’s edge,
listening to the chorus
of the ancients
softly, they call my name
invoking a memory
older than the stones themselves
echoes fading, yet eternal
lingering in the marrow of dusk
where the gods and i
meet
