A Descent into Madness
Hampton Park
Smiles Shared and Hearts Bared
Piano sonata through wire in the park
And I caught a glimpse through fine woven time
A morning run, a match of tennis,
A picnic on real grass dewed from the sun
A park bench, pigeons gathering
Geese flocking in dark waters
Religions mocking their own forefathers
Lovers mingling and drifting thru the Azalea scattered path
Their regalia flaunted by their careless stride
An old man walking alone, through haunted memories of those long gone
Lions cages — littered school books pages
Children running, fountain water dancing,
Horses on horse tracks prancing
The equestrian ride where the church folk gather
From the pedestrians
Another bride poses under the Ancient Angel Oak
Weary and war torn and worn from the years
The tree branches rest on the settled earth
Beneath as earth mimics Atlas
The smell of peanuts spilled in wooden wheel carriage driven ruts
In the damp jungly mud
A first dates first kiss under stars aligned
And over wrought iron bar built benches
Near the water, comfort and excitement in her eyes
Smiles shared and hearts bared
The green grass grows up to kiss each lovers feet
Midnight sonata, light Sinatra rings in your ear,
The bird song sing in the brisk winter night
