According to the decision of Justice of the Peace Bruce Reinhart, Craig Wright is obliged to transfer half the Bitcoins and intellectual property that were under his control until 2014 to Ira Kleiman.

The case began back in 2018, when the brother of Dave Kleiman, Wright’s deceased business partner, filed a lawsuit for $10 billion. He accused Wright of wanting to appropriate Bitcoins not due to him.

According to the plaintiff, Wright and Dave together mined 1.1 million BTC in 2009–2011. That‘s why, in fact, Ira Kleiman calls his brother Dave the creator of Bitcoin — Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright said that access to these coins was lost along with the death of Dave Kleiman.

At the moment, it is necessary to carry out several procedural actions, including gaining access to assets lost, according to Wright. However, the main issues have already been resolved, which indicates the end of the trial, which could be delayed.

A source familiar with the situation said that Bruce Reinhart did not believe Wright’s words on the case. On the other hand, the judge refused to confirm or deny Wright’s proclamation of his identity with the creator of Bitcoin.

The decision of the justice of the peace will take effect after approval by federal district judge Beth Bloom. Wright has no way to demand a jury trial, but he has the right to appeal.
