The BITBOX cryptocurrency exchange has notified its users about the upcoming XRP delisting. The message was shared by NewsEnquire CEO Jaymin Shah on Twitter.

According to the announcement, XRP and pairs based on BTC, ETH and USDT are subject to delisting.

“If the coin does not meet our standards based on its performance, reliability, liquidity or law of regulatory requirements, it will be delisted from our exchange. In order to protect your assets and interests, we provide sufficient notice before delisting,” the announcement reads.

XRP delisting is expected to occur on January 17. The exchange recommends to its users to take care in advance of canceling active applications in pairs with XRP. Otherwise, they will be canceled automatically.

BITBOX exchange was founded by the Japanese company LINE Corp, which is the owner of a popular messenger application in the region. In 2018, the exchange launched in Singapore, but could not serve users in the home market of the company. In 2019, a platform was opened for Japanese customers called BITMAX (not to be confused with an independent Singapore exchange with a similar name).

XRP is in particular demand among customers of Japanese exchanges. Ripple CEO recently stated that “almost all” Japanese banks work with XRP.
