Google will give a thousand dollars to employees who will remain working remotely until the end of the year in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. This was stated in a statement by the CEO of the Alphabet Sundar Pichai.

He noted that payments should go to the purchase of equipment or furniture that will help employees work comfortably from home. Google was one of the first to transfer employees to remote work. Now the offices will open gradually. In July, the workload in them should reach 10 percent, and in September — 30.

At the first stage, employees will begin to come to the office only once a week. The premises will follow strict safety measures to ensure the principles of social distance. For those whose presence at the workplace is not strictly required, return to the office will take place on a voluntary basis until the end of the year.
