Any network with lower gas fees and faster transaction speeds wants to address Ethereum's main problems. But Solana goes a step further — claiming to perform 710,000 transactions per second (TPS) theoretically.
However, available data has shown that actual TPS is much lower. According to SolanaFM, the average transaction per second on Solana is 3,000.
While this is far from the theoretically possible TPS, it is still far above Ethereum, around ten.
