If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Have you heard about Tesla’s “The Anti-Handbook Handbook?”

Why would you want to change Tesla work culture that includes “guidelines,” such as these?

“Anyone at Tesla can and should email or talk to anyone else according to what they think the fastest way to solve a problem for the benefit of the whole company.”

“No one told me’ is an excuse that will never fly here.”

“You may hold a job with another company as long as you perform your job here well and you aren’t compromising anything confidential or proprietary.”

“We want you to work hard, love what you do, and have fun.”

Does it look and sound too good to be true?

Well, it is. You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs. And you can’t make Tesla cars without the ‘carrot and stick’ work culture. Here are two emails to illustrate how it works with Elon Musk as a boss.

Cool, isn’t it? But, take this one into consideration, as well.

One wise man once said that “without music, life would be a mistake.” I think it’s wise not to change a thing about the current culture of Tesla, including its CEO. Agree?
