Over 60% of the Bitcoins issued to date have not been moving over the past year, an analyst at Rhythm draws attention, citing data from the Bitcoininfocharts portal.

According to the latest information, Bitcoin addresses that have remained inactive since December last year contain about 11.6 million BTC, which corresponds to 64% of cryptocurrency emissions.

“Even with a 85% increase in price during that time, those millions of bitcoin were not sold or traded,” the analyst concludes. “Hodlers of last resort are insane.”

What proportion of these coins are located on exchange addresses or may be considered lost, Bitcoininfocharts data does not allow to establish. Nevertheless, the information provided does indicate that the share of inactive addresses in the total volume is growing, and the number of Bitcoins used to carry out transactions remains limited.

It was previously noted that only at well-known addresses of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, which are not inclined to often move their assets, contain about 2 million BTC.

Back in May, there were 10.5 million inactive Bitcoins.
