How to Download and Install Visual Studio Code on Windows 10/11

This guide will show you how to quickly and easily install Visual Studio Code on your Windows 10/11 PC.

Downloading Visual Studio Code

First of all, we have to download Visual Studio Code.

1. Open the web browser, search for Visual Studio code, and click on the first link of the official website of Visual Studio Code.

2. After opening the website, click on the download button present in the top-right corner.

3. Now, click on the download button that says “Download for Windows.” Clicking this will initiate the download of the Visual Studio Code executable file (VSCodeSetup.exe).

4. The file is downloaded and now we will install the VS code from the VSCodeSetup.exe file.

Installing the Visual Studio Code

After the download is complete, locate the downloaded EXE file and open it. This will launch the setup wizard.

Accept the License Agreement

In the setup wizard, you’ll first see the license agreement. Click on “I accept the agreement” and then click “Next.”

Choose Default Settings

The next few steps in the wizard will ask you to choose installation settings. For most users, the default settings are perfect.

Continue clicking “Next” to proceed.

Install Visual Studio Code

After confirming your settings, click “Install” to begin the installation process.

The setup will extract the required files and install Visual Studio Code on your system. This process should only take a few moments.

Launch Visual Studio Code

Once the installation is complete, ensure the “Launch Visual Studio Code” option is checked, then click “Finish.”
