Equipped with great insights from last week’s speed dating and interviews, we began refining our existing concept to take all the feedback we got into account.

How Might We?

One of our trickiest problems- how can we persuade people to use our solution?

We began with a quick ‘How Might We’ session and Crazy 8’s exercise, where we brainstormed ways to solve the issues brought up by our speed daters. There were some tricky problems brought up about our solution, and this session helped us come up with a variety of ways to address them.

Solution Tweaks

Using these brainstormed possible solutions to our solution’s problems (confusing, right?), we each independently came up with two potential changes to our concept. We each used a method to convey the information, and it was interesting to see the diverse mediums we used!

From each solution tweak, we extracted elements we thought would be valuable to implement in our next solution iteration, which we will be doing in the form of wireframes!

User Testing Prep

Next week, we will begin testing our solution with actual caregivers and people with special needs (yay!).

To prepare, we started identifying the key questions and hypotheses we want our users to answer/validate (for example, is our solution trustworthy?). Based on these questions, we then identified the features that are at this stage most critical to gain feedback about, and started sketching out screens.

All the features and alternatives we want our users to comment on (via the infamous Likert scale)

At this point in time, we are still testing features (opposed to specifics on how the interface is laid out), and it was important to tailor our protocol accordingly. To prevent bias and keep the test results as accurate as possible, we also spent a good amount of time ensuring that we wrote precise and thorough instructions and scenarios for the participant.

We are excited to start the tests and will tell all next week!
