How Might We

Week seven was a bit more than a single week (due to the Spring break schedule). It involved a lot of design exercises! So that was fun.

The first exercise was “How Might We.” Before that, however, Marina made an awesome Stakeholder map that’s been all kinds of helpful!:

“How Might We” is an exercise that lets designers imagine that any solution is possible and then figure out how it could be so. It yielded lots of great ideas:

Crazy 8s

After the How Might We, the group moved immediately on to Crazy 8s. (Eight ideas sketched in eight minutes.) Lot’s of wild ideas came out, including sending messages by carrier pigeon!

Visioning

Later in the week we did a number of visioning exercises. Like Crazy 8s we threw out lots of wild idea, but this time, a single person sketched all of them into a coherent whole. Fun times:

Design Sprint #2

Before going to Texas, we held another design sprint. This time, at our faculty advisors’ suggestion, we focused exclusively on Hospital centric disaster solutions:

It worked out great and gave us a solid bedrock for preparing our storyboards for speed dating in the near future!
