The fraternity of Sigma Tau Gamma at the University of Central Arkansas was suspended after Brock Denton, a sophomore at the university dressed as Bill Cosby, by painting his face black with paint.

The fraternity hosted a Halloween party on Oct. 28, the night the action occurred. Denton posted the photo of himself in costume on Instagram with the caption: “It was a bold night…”.

The location of the photo read “Sigma Tau Gamma-UCA.” The photo was taken down, and his account is no longer active.

UCA President Tom Courtway expressed his remarks on the photo on Twitter:

“A short time ago we were made aware of a picture on social media showing what is purported to be a UCA student wearing blackface. This picture is highly offensive and repugnant, and this representation goes against all we, at UCA believe in and stand for.”
