Quwwa is Arabic for Strength.

Hard Battle

One of the hardest battles of your life is the one you have to fight alone because most people don’t believe that the battle exists.

People suffering from physical illness always have loved ones’ support because it’s more material. You can blame the illness on a virus or some bacterial infection or a cell mutation. But mental suffering?

“it’s all in your head. Can’t you see all the pain in the world? stop whining and put yourself together.”

That is wrong. So wrong, it isn’t even worth listening to.

Because fighting fear and hopelessness and anxiety and emotional exhaustion without complaint takes immeasurable courage. Dark thoughts are exactly like weed, they always find a way to survive and grow again after you try to get rid of them. So if you are smothering your dark thoughts and trying to live your life despite all the fear and anxiety strangling you from within; you are a HERO and you have my utmost respect.

It’s ok to break down

It’s alright to fall. It’s alright if you feel too weak to go on.

Cry. Rest. Sleep. Run. Write..write volumes. Paint. Cook. Dance. Be alone..or with someone..do whatever you know is right, and gives you comfort….Recharge and try again. How do you know it won’t work this time?

We Rise by Lifting Others

Don’t let anyone’s inability to understand your struggle make you feel weak. This is your battle. They’re fighting their own. And that’s that.

But there are people who are very sensitive to others’ pain. Sometimes it’s a kind person…sometimes it’s someone who has known a similar pain. They help gently. They never belittle you or your struggle. If you’re lucky to have someone like that in your close circle, reach out to them. Life will be infinitely easier with their quiet support.

I know it’s hard. But be strong. Have the Quwwa to push back. And watch the world bend to your will power.
