The Courage Mantra
From Dune by Frank Herbert
I find this mantra deeply comforting when facing any fear. It was nice to read it as I use a similar pep talk. It doesn’t always work but still…it cuts through the dense cloud of paralyzing anxiety.
“Fear is the mind-killer. fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. i will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear’s path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” — Frank Herbert, Dune
Fear is paralysis. Fear is a big red STOP button. Fear is the mind killer.
An amazing quote from one of the best books I read this year (ahem..all time).
