Omar Khadr Wins the Photo Op Lottery

The victims of torture and state-sanctioned abuse undoubtedly deserve compensation, but 10 million dollars is far above what’s regularly given to the wrongfully convicted, is simply too much. The federal Liberal government has used this entire incident solely to appeal to a voter demographic. Voter pandering through a convicted terrorist is certainly a new low.

If our government really cared about Khadr’s well-being they would sponsor his rehabilitation and recovery efforts and a comfortable living standard. Instead, our government has chosen to spend 10MIL on a photo op while continuing to cast aside thousands of other worthy causes.
