“A Saturday without class. Whatever shall we do?”
Jake is only twenty minutes from work, since we spent the night at his place. That gives us a lot more time.
I like his place.
It’s the perfect size for one … or a couple. He’s lived here for five years, and it borders on man-cave decorating. But there are special touches here and there; I can tell his daughter Kali added in those.
He sets down his coffee mug and wraps his arms around me. Of course, his hands wander down to my ass. If he’s around me, that’s usually where they end up.
“I’ll be back by four. I have everything for tonight, accept stuff for the salad. I kind of forgot it when I was at the store yesterday.”
I kiss him on the nose. “How do you forget salad stuff when that’s mainly what you’re serving?”
He looks at me sheepishly. “I picked up portabellas for you. And shrimp for Kali and me.”
I’m meeting his daughter tonight, and I think he’s a little nervous. So I’ll give him a break.
“I think I’m going to head over to the farmers market this morning. I can pick up everything we need. Maybe I’ll grab some berries and make a shortcake or something too. Does that sound good?”
I see the mischief in his eyes and anticipate what he’s going to say even before the words are out of his mouth. “With whipped cream?”
I bat my eyelashes. “I’ll add it to the list.”
