Phases of Heritage Financial Stadium Construction are Coming to an End

In August 2023, Heritage Financial Stadium, the home of the Hudson Valley Renegades (the High-A Affiliate for the New York Yankees) released renderings for a new look stadium in August and these upgrades are expected to be ready for Opening Day 2024. The specific upgrades include; a new clubhouse facility, and a new club-level event space. The construction is in phase two right now and it marks the largest capital investment in Heritage Financial Park since the facility opened in 1994.

“The best way to describe this project is dynamic! It will deliver player and staff accommodations that will be among the best in all of baseball, it will expand the experience that we can provide our fans on game day, and it will grant us the opportunity to be open and welcoming to the communities we serve for 12 months a year,” said Tyson Jeffers, General Manager of the Renegades, via press statement. “This project delivers on many promises made to our partners, including our fans, the community, and the New York Yankees, as well as the Renegades fulfilling our goals of Heritage Financial Park being the premier entertainment venue in the Hudson Valley. I can’t wait to welcome our players, staff, and fans into these new spaces to start the 2024 season!”

The first update the team is making is constructing a state-of-the art clubhouse with a batting cage next to the clubhouse. This is the center-piece of the player friendly upgrades that are happening in the Heritage Financial Stadium

Lastly, the main piece of construction will be happening in the upper level of the stadium and highlights the fan engagement aspect of the construction. A new club-level and events space. This is targeted towards the season ticket holders. A new club level seen below will accommodate 200 people and is equipped with a full kitchen, bar and a buffet. The level is set to stay open for 12 months to accommodate people who want to have weddings and gatherings at the stadium.

Many people are wondering how these upgrades will increase fan engagement. For Renegades fan Anthony DiPonio, the new improvements will draw more fans into the stadium.

“I think that the upgrades to the stadium will drive more people to want to come tocheck out what the Renegades have to offer and what has improved this season. Most fans, out of pure curiosity, will be interested in seeing the completed renovations to Dutchess Stadium (now Heritage Financial Park), driving ticket sales.” said DiPonio “The team not only has built a new clubhouse but also upgraded their field this season. Even though these improvements are more focused on the players, any investments made to better the team will better the fan experience as well. When the players have access to better facilities, I believe their level of play will improve too.”

Again, the construction is supposed to be done by Opening Day 2024, which is nearly two months away at this point.
