How Owning an Automotive Car Benefits Younger and Older Generations.
Ft. Bob Robinson. There has been a lot of back and forth of to whether the younger and older generations should have a vehicle. But we are here to try and express our point of view as to why the younger and older generations should have a vehicular transportation. So let’s “drive” in and discuss the benefits of owning a car at younger and older ages.
For starters a benefit of owning a car at a younger age is that it teaches how to think about being somewhere on time and responsibility. For example, when you are on your own and you have an appointment at 8:30 in the a.m. and you were planning to leave at 8 because it is a 30 minute walk to the doctors. But the next day your alarm does not go off and it is 8:15 how are you supposed to get there on time if you have to walk. This would be a perfect time for you to have your license and a car so you could be there on time. Some people believe that teenagers should not have their licenses until they mature more, but that statement is wrong according to Unlimited-revs where they state that 5 reasons why teenagers need vehicles or at least access to them, some of the reasons are Job accessibility, Transporting family members after school to practice or appointments, and Emergency reasons such as taking people to the ER if something were to happen when the parents are not there.
Younger generations are definitely in need of cars so that can help themselves get farther in school and life in general. When teens are given the chance to have a vehicle, they are also given a chance to help provide for themselves with confidence and paying for things on their own. If a teen has a vehicle when they are in school it can help them get further by being able to get to class early to help study for a test or stay late after school to help go over their homework with the teacher. If a teen wants to get a job and does not always have access to a vehicle, how are they going to be able to be there on time and cover extra shift if they cannot drive themselves when someone is not there to drive them around. We will now provide the information on the elderly and why they should or should not drive.
So we have looked at the benefits of our younger generation owning a car. Next let’s discuss how the older generations, owning a car. We believe that the older generation should still have the ability to transport themselves because they won’t always have constant access to personnel who can drive them. Also contrary to popular belief that our seniors happen to be safe drivers compared to other age groups of drivers according to AAA Facts and research. But unfortunately due to their age, they are more prone to different kinds of wrecks such as at intersections, in collisions where the front of the vehicle hits the side of another vehicle, or when the older driver is trying to merge and have a driver in their blind spot according to NIH SeniorHelth. But all in all the benefits of being able to still have the ability to drive and drive safely outweigh the risk of being potentially stranded with no mode of transportation.
Another point about the encouragement of older drivers are that it really promotes hard work in your youth. For example, when you are young and you work hard when you are young you can purchase nice car that will last you your lifetime. And for some people they acquire skills in the automotive industry, which they really enjoy doing. But with restrictions on the elderly, they may not have a car that they can work on when they can’t drive.
But on the flip side there are dangers of older people driving, according to adult vision over 60 years of age some of the dangers of older drivers is that their bodies are deteriorating so when they are in vehicular accidents they have much more of a chance to get more seriously injured as stated earlier in this article. Also another issue with having older drivers is that they have issues seeing signs on the road, which you could probably guess why that would be an issue. Is could very possibly be a danger to miss a stop sign or a railroad crossing sign. Another issue is that some older people have difficulty seeing objects up close like their road maps and dashboard. They also have difficulties judging distances and speeds. You may be thinking that that the very basis of driving is judging your speed and distances. Which is a good point against having older drivers.
Now, we have looked at younger and older generations of car owners and why they should be able to have access or own a vehicle. But do you think that these generations should have the access? We say heck yes, they should. If you want to drive a car and you can make it safe enough, then you should be able to and not be regulated or stereotyped into the normal adaptations of the society.
