We are delighted to welcome Cordie McGhee to the GUILD ambassadors. She joined the GUILD community in San Francisco in February 2019 and decided to put her passion for entrepreneurship and supporting other women to good use.

As a GUILD ambassador Cordie volunteered at the Silicon Valley Entrepreneur Conference and rolled up her sleeves to make the GUILD’s SERENDIPITY conference a huge success. She is one of the first participants in the 12 week online program for female entrepreneurs — GUILD academy — and shares her expectations for the program in a video soon to be published.

Cordie joined the GUILD inspired to be part of a community of women who were driven by innovation and passion.

We interviewed Cordie to learn more about her and introduce her to the GUILD community.

I’m a native of… Fairbanks, Alaska

I worked as … a Business Development professional in Nonprofit and Corporate Social Responsibility, working on both domestic and international issues.

Cordie is now the founder of an online store Hazelle Prime and on the verge of starting a new business.

What is Hazelle Prime … A fashion line that features boutique-quality, business-casual looks at affordable prices. We aim to empower women by offering them the opportunity to feel confident in today’s innovative and fast-paced professional work environment, without having to sacrifice the additional need for comfort. Hazelle Prime has committed 10% of its annual net revenue to support partner organizations that are focused on the success of women in the workforce.

I joined the GUILD with the goal of meeting… Women in leadership, who wanted to share their experience. I wanted to be part of a community of women who were driven by innovation and passion.

My favorite movie is … HIDDEN FIGURES

My favorite podcast is… WSJ Secrets of Wealthy Women, Spotify

When I was 10 years old, I wanted to be … A business owner like my father. I was drawn to creative thinking, problem solving, and acts of courage. I knew being a business owner would put me up for the challenge to possess these traits.

Advice to my younger self … Build a strong routine and stick to it. Never apologize for the skills you lack because you have the drive to learn, and be alright with failure, success is around the corner.

The thing I’m most proud of in my career is… Winning the Paul Harris Distinguished Campaign Achievement Award at the National American Heart Association Conference.

My superpowers… I am bulletproof to societal tropes.

I’m a member of the GUILD because… I feel inspired, appreciated, and I know I am contributing to something that is bigger than myself.

I chose to be a GUILD ambassador because… I want to encourage women to always be on the hunt to learn something new and to ask questions whether they are big or small. I want to provide reinforcement to women that may be in doubt, and I want to feel similar inspiration, in all forms, from the Guild community.

My mantra is… What will be is up to me.
