Trillion dollar tech developer Apple announced on Oct. 30 the schematics and specifications for the newest iPad Pro. This iPad has new features, accessories and operating systems.

The new iPad Pro has a larger display than on previous models, new face-ID technology, USB-C integration, up to one terabyte storage (lower priced models will have smaller storage) and the fastest processor to date.

While the slimmest iPad yet, it also has the largest screen sizes of a standard iPad. With the larger model being 11x12.9inches, it has the largest and brightest display to date, despite being 25 percent smaller in volume than the previous generation of iPad. Apple describes the “Liquid Retina” display as having the brightest and most color accurate display ever seen on an iPad, allowing for a better display both indoors and out. The iPad also has speakers that are twenty-five percent louder than previous models, making for a better overall viewing experience.

New accessories were also announced alongside the iPad. A new Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio were announced as peripherals, and each will be getting some new upgrades from previous models. The second generation Apple pencil offers magnetic attachment, meaning a case with a pencil holder will no longer be required. It also offers new integrated software, allowing users to change from typing to using the pencil with a simple double tap from the pencil after going through a primary bluetooth syncing process.

The new Smart Keyboard Folio, while not offering many upgrades from previous models, has been remodeled to be more protective of the iPad itself. It also offers easier connectivity if it’s ever disconnected for any reason.

The new iPad Pro has also replaced the former lightning style charger that all other iPads used in favor of the USB-C style chargers that new laptop models have adopted in recent years. Now, iPads and laptops can be charged from the same cords. Apple cites the reasons for the change being, “power for charging, supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 for high-bandwidth data transfers up to twice the speed to and from cameras and musical instruments, and drives external displays up to 5K.”

The new product also promises to push iOS 12 to its limits. A new app called Shortcuts will allow users to connect together to complete projects, edit photos and render video presentations. Apple also promises to improve the Photos app to allow for better quality imports, as well as improve the multitasking ability when handling pictures and other applications.
