The world of anime is vast and intriguing. The storylines, characters, and visuals are often detailed and deep. Anime shows are usually based off of manga (comics or graphic novels originating from Japan). Hunter x Hunter, in my opinion, follows manga pretty closely. This anime contains many lovable characters with noble and difficult goals. Specifically, the plot follows with one character’s goal the most, Gon Freecs.

Spoiler Alert Ahead

Gon, the main character in Hunter x Hunter, is a kindhearted character who sets out on a quest to find his father (who was believed to be dead). On his quest, Gon discovers that his father left to become a hunter. In this series, hunters are elite members of society with special abilities. To become a hunter, one must pass the hunter exam. Despite his father leaving, Gon decides that he wants to be a hunter too. Setting off to take the exam, Gon meets other characters along the way. One of the characters is Killua. Despite their differences, Gon and Killua become best friends. Killua comes from a family of assassins and has a darker personality than Gon. Yet the contrast of their personalities gives them strength.

Along with deep relationships such as Gon and Killua’s, this anime also incorporates endless cliffhangers, making the show very bingeable.

Overall, Hunter x Hunter is a good anime. Although it goes off track a little bit in the last season, this show creates both entertainment and excitement. It’s easy to connect with the characters and admire their goals. Every scene keeps the audience waiting for the next thing to happen. Like any good anime, Hunter x Hunter offers some comedic sequences throughout to entertain the audience even more.
