Making money can be difficult as a college student since there are only a few months of the year where we can work full time. However, due to all kinds of expenses, it can be stressful to go several months without working. Fortunately, there are plenty of options for part time jobs both on campus and off campus. Here are some of those options:

On Campus:

  1. Event/Moving Staff for SVU Events
  • For this job, people would be required to help set up for forums and other events around campus, as well as helping staff move offices if needed. The job has flexible hours, and can be applied to by contacting Zach Bearnson at zachary.a.bearnson@svu.edu.

2. Maintenance Workers for SVU Facilities

  • SVU Facilities is looking to hire people to help take care of the fields, grounds, and housekeeping departments. The responsibilities for each department are different, but might include mowing, weeding, edging sidewalks, performing maintenance on grass and turf fields, and cleaning windows. The hours are flexible, and to apply, contact John Sargent at john.sargent@svu.edu.

3. Sodexo Dining Services

  • Sodexo is looking for students to work in the cafeteria, retail outlets, and catering staff. To apply, fill out the Sodexo Student Application and send it to Dustin Frazier.

Off Campus:

  1. General Labor for Patriot Movers
  • Patriot Movers is looking for people to work part-time. They work in Buena Vista, Lexington, and other areas, and are looking for people who are willing to help others move. Responsibilities would include lifting and moving furniture, and you can apply by calling Ken Hardy at 540–319–3922.
