ROME, GEORGIA — The Southern Virginia University Knights Men’s Golf Team’s A Team recently concluded their participation in their final tournament of the season: the highly competitive Chick-Fil-A Tournament at the Stone Bridge Golf Club in Rome, Georgia. These collegiate athletes showcased their unwavering determination and impressive skills on the challenging fairways and greens. The A Team played decently at this tournament. They shot a two-day total of 610 and placed eighth overall in the tournament out of 14 teams.

Brogan Bennett — Tied for 6th Place: Bennett was undoubtedly one of the stars of the tournament, finishing in a remarkable tie for 6th place. His steady play saw him shoot an impressive 70 in the first round, followed by a solid 74 in the second round. Bennett’s performance was a key factor in Southern Virginia’s overall success in the tournament.

Nick Johnson — Tied for 21st: Johnson showcased his skills on both days, ending the tournament tied for 21st place. Johnson demonstrated remarkable consistency by shooting a solid 75 on both days, contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.

Michael McCaffery — Tied for 70th: McCaffery put forth a valiant effort, despite facing tough competition. He tied for 70th place, shooting an 80 in the first round, followed by a determined 78 in the second round.

Robbie Nielsen — Tied for 73rd: Nielsen, another key player for Southern Virginia University, put in a commendable effort, tying for 73rd place. His rounds consisted of an 81 in the first round and a competitive 78 in the second round.

Luke Wilson — Tied for 103rd: Luke Wilson, although facing a challenging field of competitors, demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament. He finished in a tie for 103rd place, shooting an 88 in the first round and improving his performance with an 81 in the second round.
