Student Life Puts on Activities for Mental Health Awareness
By Elizabeth Morgan
The month of February at Southern Virginia University has so much to offer. Student Life has put together several fun activities and various events in support of mental health awareness month.
McKay Walker (’23) from Student Life says, “I know our team has really been focused on ways to help the student body with mental [health] because we know how big of an issue it is. We’re planning a Q&A panel, service projects to help others out, and other little art therapy events and many others to help people get out the stress and get to know others!”
Another member from Student Life, Rita Kennach (‘24), states, “The activities this month are activities that are true to the schools teaching of service, whether it be to write a letter to a professor or to give someone a bag of candy with a personalized note that will brighten up their day!”
