SVU Athletics Top plays

So far the Knights have been top competitors in their respective sports, here’s a recap of some the teams:
The men’s volleyball team is ranked 4th in the nation after their win on the 26th. They are currently undefeated at 6–0. Christian Sheaffer was their leading scorer for the game and had a very dominant start. The final set of the game was a bit tougher than the rest with the score being tied at one point. In the end, the Knights were able to pull out a win.
The women’s basketball team continues to win. Main plays came from Aysia Foster who led the knights with 13 points and was perfect from the field. Ruth Kempler was another commanding force in the paint and had 11 points.
Women’s wrestling had their first home invitational and had a wonderful outcome. For the 101- pound division, Dusti Casperson won first place. After falling behind in her second match, she was able to turn it around and ended up pinning her opponent for the win. Another Knight who fought back was Abby Pilkington, who placed second in the 123-pound division. She won 3 out of her 4 matches that day.
The Men’s wrestling team faced the Shenandoah hornets and fell short. However one of the Knights, Quinn Richards, was a force in the 125- pound division. In the first round he had a very commanding takedown and ended the first round 3–1. In the final round he finished the match with the win 16–6.
Overall, the Knights are a force in all sports. Come support your fellow Knights at their next home event!
