The weather outside is significantly less frightful, and as it continues to get warmer, ice cream starts becoming more of a temptation. Luckily, we’ve got our very own ice cream shop in town with new flavors being switched in and out weekly. Ice cream is arguably an already perfect food, but how could we make it better? By adding more ice cream! With that being said, I’ll be going over the top five flavor combinations that I’ve found, so you don’t have to spend your own money trying to find them.

5 — Patty Mint and Strawberry

Starting off with a strange suggestion from a Beeve employee, Aiden recommends a surprisingly delicious combination. The chocolate and strawberry make it taste like a chocolate-covered strawberry with a subtle minty flavor, and it’s worth giving a try for as long as the flavors are around.

4 — Salted Caramel and Strawberry

Another recommendation from Aiden, he offered us his favorite combination of ice cream flavors. The salted caramel and strawberry seem like two flavors that wouldn’t blend very well together, but they come together like a nice strawberry and cream-flavored dessert. Neither flavor is too sweet or overpowering, making it a very nice treat for those who enjoy the more mild flavors.

3 — Black Raspberry and Chocolate

A classic favorite for many SVU students, the black raspberry and chocolate combo was destined to be on this list. It’s a combination of arguably the two most popular flavors at The Beeve, and it comes as no surprise that it’s amazing. Black raspberry is a flavor that comes in and out occasionally, so be sure to get in soon to try this amazing combo!

2 — Chocolate and Banana

Do you like chocolate-covered bananas? The answer to that question is most likely yes, which means you’ll love this combo! Whether served as two scoops or in a milkshake, you can’t go wrong with this classic flavor duo! I personally feel this is better enjoyed as separate ice cream scoops, but you can be your own judge for that. If you’re feeling extra daring, you can add hot fudge as well. The banana flavor can be elusive though, making the chocolate and banana flavor combo is a rare treat. If you happen to be at The Beeve while the banana flavor is available, be sure to try this flavor combo!

1 — Black Raspberry and Butter Pecan

Imagine luxury. Now imagine wealth. Now look at yourself, in college, and incredibly poor. Luxury and wealth are a fairly distant goal for most of us, but the black raspberry and butter pecan ice cream combo makes me feel like Jeff Bezos. You get the subtle nuttiness from the butter pecan mixed with the mild but tart sweetness of black raspberry, creating the sensation of a masterfully crafted charcuterie board of cold, creamy goodness. Then when you think it can’t get any better, you turn it into a MILKSHAKE, and the flavors are combined and enhanced into what is commonly referred to as Nirvana. This is my number one go-to flavor combination, and it could be yours as well for the small price of roughly $4.99.

These are my recommendations for flavor combos, but you can obviously do whatever you want. Do you want to try mint chocolate chip with sorbet ice cream? I wouldn’t recommend it, but hey, maybe it’s great. You’ll have to let us know!
